TEREA is the tobacco stick made for IQOS ILUMA devices. What is TEREA?
TEREA are tobacco sticks made by Philip Morris International for IQOS ILUMA devices. Each stick holds real tobacco and is sold in cartons, with many flavors and several countries of origin.
TEREA has its own flavor line, separate from the older HEETS range. On our store you will find the whole range under TEREA Flavors, with the country of origin shown on every product.
How does TEREA work?
TEREA is heated by the induction system inside an IQOS ILUMA device, and it is not burned or lit with a flame.
ILUMA has no heating blade. Our IQOS ILUMA FAQ explains that the device uses SMARTCORE induction to warm a metal strip inside each TEREA stick. Can you smoke TEREA like a cigarette?
No, TEREA is not designed to be lit or smoked like a cigarette.
It is made to be used only in an IQOS ILUMA-family device, which heats it through induction. You never light a TEREA stick with a match or lighter.
How to use TEREA
You use TEREA by inserting a stick into a charged IQOS ILUMA holder, which then starts heating it automatically. The steps below follow our guide on how to use the IQOS ILUMA i device.
- Charge the device fully before first use. On two-piece models, the pocket charger also charges the holder.
- Take the holder out of the pocket charger. ILUMA i One is all-in-one, so there is no separate charger to remove.
- Gently insert a TEREA stick into the holder up to the filter line. Do not twist it.
- The holder vibrates to confirm the stick is in place, and heating starts on its own with AutoStart. If it does not, the guide says to swipe up on the touch screen, a feature of ILUMA i Standard and Prime.
- Wait for the second vibration. The Light Guide lights up to show the device is ready.
- Use the stick. The holder vibrates again to tell you the session is nearly finished.
- Remove the used stick without twisting, dispose of it, and put the holder back in the pocket charger to recharge.
There is no cleaning step between sticks, because ILUMA has no blade.
Which devices work with TEREA?
TEREA works only in IQOS ILUMA-family devices, and it does not work in older blade IQOS devices.

- ILUMA i One, a compact all-in-one device, from AED 140 on our listings.
- ILUMA i Standard, a holder with a pocket charger and touch screen, from AED 240.
- ILUMA i Prime, the same two-piece format with interchangeable wraps and rings, from AED 330.
HEETS and older IQOS devices (IQOS 2.4, IQOS 3 and IQOS 3 DUO) are not compatible with TEREA. HEETS are made for those blade devices and will not work in ILUMA. Our TEREA vs HEETS guide covers the difference in detail.

What flavors are there?
TEREA comes in four broad families: tobacco, menthol, fruity menthol and Pearl capsule sticks. The TEREA flavor chart lists every flavor we stock with its taste type, cooling, capsule and countries.
Tobacco
Silver, Yellow, Teak, Amber, Bronze and Sienna have no menthol. Silver is described as the lightest tobacco option, and Bronze as a warm, rich blend with cocoa and dried fruit notes. The TEREA Regular Flavors collection adds seven Japanese tobacco editions, including Smooth, Rich, Balanced, Bold and Warm Regular.
Menthol
The TEREA Menthol Flavors collection runs from pure menthol and mint to fruit blends. Plain cooling options include TEREA Menthol, Mint and Bright Menthol from Japan, plus Turquoise, described as lightly toasted tobacco with crisp menthol and zesty, minty notes. The Black line, such as Black Menthol, pairs menthol with a fuller tobacco base.
Fruity menthol
Purple Wave is described as dark berry notes with icy menthol, Summer Wave as peach and melon with a soft menthol chill, and Green Zing as cool menthol with green tea and citrus. Japanese editions with fruit names, such as Tropical Menthol and Black Tropical Menthol, sit in the same group.
Pearl capsule
TEREA Pearl Flavors have a crushable capsule in the filter. You can use the stick as it is or press the filter to release fruit and cooling notes. Sun Pearl is described as toasted tobacco before the click and watermelon with menthol after it. Other Pearl names include Oasis, Twilight, Provence, Tidal, Starling, Riviera and Shine Pearl.
Where does TEREA come from, and why do prices differ by country?
We sell original TEREA stock from several countries, and each country’s edition is listed and priced separately, so the same flavor can cost more or less depending on its origin.
The country also changes which flavors are on offer. Japan, for example, carries the whole Regular collection. Current starting prices per carton on our listings:

Is TEREA the same as HEETS?
No. Both are IQOS tobacco sticks, but TEREA has a metal element inside for ILUMA’s induction heating, while HEETS are built for a heating blade.
Can I use TEREA without a device?
No. TEREA needs an IQOS ILUMA-family device to heat it and is not meant to be lit.
Does TEREA have an expiry date?
TEREA does not carry a food-style expiry date, only a batch code on the pack. Our TEREA manufacture date guide suggests using sticks within about a year of manufacture for the fullest flavor.
How can I tell if TEREA is genuine?
Genuine packs have crisp printing, a legible batch code, an intact factory seal and sticks that sit snugly. A missing or hand-printed code is a red flag.
Can I return TEREA?
Unused, sealed items can be returned within 7 days. Opened sticks cannot be returned.
